Land Use/Zoning Law

At Manley Burke, we put our knowledge, skill and experience to work to solve our clients’ property and real estate issues. We represent landowners, developers, neighborhood/public interest groups and units of local government in issues of land use, regulation and development. We obtain or influence zoning or other regulatory approvals representing a variety of clients, from the large developer to the single landowner, for projects both simple and complex.

We have great success in effecting the direction and type of development in an area. Our significant experience, both in urban redevelopment and rural development, has served our clients in obtaining rezonings, annexations, and Brownfield grants. For example, we have worked for large railroads in converting their old switchyards into commercial development sites, universities introducing non intrusive power generators into urban areas, and hospitals expanding in heavily regulated areas. We possess significant and extensive experience locally and nationally in the use of Eminent Domain.

We pride ourselves in solving our clients' problems so that they can spend more time conducting their business rather than in court. However, in situations where it cannot be avoided, we have been successful in pleading our clients' issues in the highest courts. We have the experience and knowledge to evaluate and argue the complex procedural, regulatory and constitutional issues presented by land use law.
