Cincinnati, OH, February 12th, 2020 — Last September, Manley Burke provided a blank canvas to display a new mural for YWCA. The vibrant artwork celebrated YWCA’s 150th anniversary. Manley Burke is ecstatic to have been apart of this process and to join the library of other ArtWorks Cincinnati murals located in downtown Cincinnati. The mural, located on the west side of the building, looks over the parking lot.

“This mural was in celebration of their 150th anniversary, YWCA Greater Cincinnati partnered with ArtWorks to create a large-scale mural honoring this major milestone. Lead Teaching Artist Rebecca Nava, Teaching Artists Mark Hanavan and Prince Lang, led a team of 12 Youth Apprentices to paint this inspiring mural. Designed by Chicago-based artist and designer Molly Costello, this mural celebrates the YWCA’s mission and legacy to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Characters are portrayed working together to pursue a more equitable and just world for the benefit and inclusion of all people. The design nods to the work of women and minority leaders throughout history, and seeks to inspire and empower viewers of all ages, ethnicities, and gender identities, today.”
